Vanity and Annoying Drivers

Posted by Jason Mosley on August 8 2007 in Everything Else

On my way to work today I saw one of my “Nine Types of Annoying Drivers”, the Slow Poke. They were driving under the speed limit while using the rearview mirror as a vanity mirror. So they couldn’t see the train of traffic following them.

After a few hundred feet the rearview must have not been enough, so they pull down the sun visor and use that mirror too. So now they have a wider view of their big stupid head. Now they are looking from one mirror to the other, while constantly picking at their head, which is causing them to drive slower than before.

Listen! You don’t have to impress anyone at work. It’s work, not a fashion show. If you are putting that much time in to what you look like in your car, maybe you should wake up a little earlier. I work at a woman-dominated work place and I can honestly tell you I really don’t care what they look like.

This brings me to another point. Why do women care so much about what other women think about their looks? I don’t wake up in the morning and think, “Man, I wonder if the guys are going to love this shirt I’m wearing” or “I hope Steve and his friends like my new haircut”. But I am a guy and could care less about what other people think about me.

I just don’t understand it. If you care that much about your looks then do it at home, not when you’re driving. You are making other people late for work for the sake of your vanity.

    I once saw a guy shaving in the car.

    The one positive thing that I have found about cell phone drives is that they almost always let you in. In gridlocked traffic, look for someone on a cellphone.

    @Spelling Police

    Haha I tried to do that once and it sucks. You get whiskers all over yourself, and the cuts and blood are not fun.

    I agree about the Cell drivers. They are more worried about their call so they don’t mind stopping to let you out.

    While we’re talking about Cell Drivers, my fav is when they have a hands free headset and it looks like they’re talking to themselves. Mouth going a mile a minute and their hands waving wildly, it’s a sight to see.
