Quad-Bacon Burger w/ Penn and Teller

What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas, so I really can’t get into too much detail about what I did there. Don’t worry, I was there for work, so I never got out of hand. I am really just using the slogan as an excuse, because I am lazy and don’t really feel like telling everyone all the details. So I am just going to go over the two big events of the trip.

The first big event was going to the Penn and Teller show at the Rio. The show was funny and political (Libertarian) at the same time. I am not going to give away any part of their show; you will have to see it for yourself.

Now you may think that just seeing the Penn and Teller show is enough to make any night a great night, but there is more. After the show, Penn and Teller ran into the crowd and out the back doors. The thought popped into my head, “Are they really going to be out there when I leave?” The answer was, yes!

Once I realized who the crowd was forming around, I started elbowing and pushing little kids and older fans that were smaller than me out of my way. When I finally reached the front, I handed my ticket to Teller and said, “Um… can you sign this?”

That’s when I spotted the next crowd, this one a little bigger than the first. “Penn” I thought! This time I didn’t care who you were, I was knocking you out of my way. Nothing was going to keep me from meeting literally the biggest libertarian I know. When I finally reached the front of the crowd, I stated, “I love your show Bullshit!” He smiled, grabbed my ticket and me, and said, “What camera should I look at?” Since I was lame and didn’t have my camera, Jen was nice enough to let me make a cameo in her pictures.

That was a great night, and I thought that nothing was going to be able to top it! But then I found out about the “Burger Bar.” It’s a place where you can create your own burger creation with its long list of toppings. As soon as I got there I scanned the list for bacon. To my surprise, they had four kinds of bacon: regular, peppered, jalapeño, and cinnamon. I knew I had to get all four and a nice slice of provolone to top it all off. It was bacon heaven.

Well, that’s all the life-changing stuff that happened on my trip. I did eat a lot of great food, saw a lot of casinos, and gambled (lost $50). But nothing topped my quad-bacon burger and Penn and Teller. I can’t wait to go back sometime when I don’t have to work. I know there was a lot I missed.

Government Banning Plastic Bags

I was browsing AynRand.org and found a letter to the editor about the Government in San Francisco banning plastic bags. I don’t know for sure if this is true since I don’t live anywhere near there, but if it is, it’s sickening. Click here to read the letter.

I never like it when I hear about stuff like this. The plastic bag is a great invention and it’s not right that they take them away. Not only can you use them to take your items to your car, you can also use them to take your lunch to work. I also hear they’re good to pick up your dog’s crap off the sidewalk. Even though the people that live on my street don’t seem to know this (There is dog crap on my sidewalk!). So you see banning plastic bags is actually a disservice to the customers and society.

What will we use to pack our lunches, clean up sidewalks, use as a garbage bag in our cars, fill with newspapers to recycle, collect aluminum cans in, and use to put dirty clothes in when on a long trip?

But to get back to the point of the letter, the writer makes a very good point. “People, not plastic bags, are responsible for littering, and we already have laws against littering.” So the environmentalists are copping out. They should just try to educate people not to waste bags and to use ones that are reusable. They should use their time and money on education, not lobbying! But like most unreasonable people (liberals), they just want everything to be easy and have big daddy government step in and tell us little people to play nice.

Well I don’t want to play nice! If you live in San Francisco and want a plastic bag, let me know and I will mail you some. That way when you go to the store you can use your plastic bag with pride, knowing that you are standing up for the right to choose, paper or plastic.

Bacon in Review

Ever since I really started to promote this site I have been gaining more reads. I guess that would be the obvious out come, but I never really thought it would happen. Not only are more people coming to the site but there reading too. It kind of puts a smile on my face to know that someone out there enjoys my poorly spelled postings.

If you don’t believe me here is a post to prove it. It’s a review about MrBaconpants.com. With a great picture of bacon right in the review. So even if you don’t like the review you can’t deny the allure of the bacon.

The only bad thing about this now is I now know people read this. So that means I need to step it up and not disappoint. I would hate to have all my hard work getting these readers go to waste. So I will keep posting, if you keep reading. 🙂

I Dropped the Bacon

Well it looks like last Sunday I dropped the bacon and didn’t record any of my podcast. I really tried to do them, but I was having technical difficulty with my internet connection and VOIP. I think the main problem was that it was really cold out side and Comcast sucks!

Just to let you all know even though I was not recording I was still working on the podcast. Since my blog commentary is not that popular I was looking in to spicing it up with music. I think it will brake up my rambling and make in more interesting to the average listener.

So if everything goes there will be two new podcast this Sunday. If not I will be canceling Comcast and give Verizon a call.
