As “Mr. Capitalism” I like all independent stores, competition create excellence. Yes I am an advocate of Capitalism, but I don’t support other Capitalists just because they are capitalists. I personally don’t like Wal-mart or Microsoft.

I hate it when people think that you support all big business because you’re a Capitalist. Do not put me in with the “Capitalism” stereotype. I am an individual too, with my own set of opinions.

But I do agree that you are right about some people not producing the best quality. That statement was really directed at the stores I mentioned, not all indie stores in general. Maybe I should have be more clear with that.

I’m not sure you can say the quality is better than you’d find in the stores, because although they may spend more time making the wares, the quality may still not be as good, because of course they lack the mechanical precision of other forms of production and their skills may be lacking.

So you could say the prices are higher, because you’re getting a more unique item, or a ‘one of a kind’ item.

Hate to be picky and I love independently made items just as much as the next person, but sometimes the quality does not always justify the high prices of their items. And just because something is hand-made does not make it better.

Coming from you, Mr. Capitalism, tsk tsk. I’m sure you don’t support all independent companies, but that was a pretty broad statement you issued.
