The Xbox 360 has been out for about two years now and it took Halo 3 to come out for people to want one. I read an article that called the game, “the godsend the Xbox needed”. I couldn’t agree more. It wasn’t until this game came out that I really thought about getting one. Sadly, I really don’t have the money to spend, maybe after the Holidays.
Anyway, this got me thinking. Microsoft loves to make money and since Halo proved that it alone could sell the consoles they might try something sneaky. The Xbox 360 came out in 2005 so I have a sinking feeling that they’re going to come out with a new one in late 2008 or 2009. Think about it, they tell the world they’re going to make Halo 4, but only for their new Xbox 1080. Then when it comes out they will be confidant that people will buy the new console to play it. This would make their new system an instant hit.
I may be wrong about this and the 360 will still be around until 2010. But I bet they thought about it once or twice. You can read the full article I referred to on thestreet.com.
