I while back I wrote a post called, “Nine Things That Are Better with Bacon”. Well, I decided that it might be fun to do the opposite. Please note that I had to add “might” to the title because I don’t know for a fact if this stuff would be weird with bacon. I have yet to try any of it. You never know, maybe some of this stuff will have to be added to my Better with Bacon post.
1.) Jell-O – I have had fruit and carrots in Jell-O, but never bacon. I don’t think it would taste all that good, but then again, maybe with the orange flavored Jell-O it would taste like breakfast.
2.) Ice Cream – It may have the same effect nuts have on a sundae, but mixing pig and ice cream kind of freaks me out.
3.) Biking – People eat Clif Bars while riding their bikes, but something tells me that munching on some greasy bacon would not be pleasant.
4.) Work – You would think bacon would make work better, but it depends who you are. If you’re the person eating it, then yes it does make work better. If you’re the person not eating it and just smelling it, then it will be a long day.
5.) Laundry – Doing laundry with greasy hands is a disaster. Trust me when I say grease stains never come out.
6.) Sleeping – I have never been able to sleep with the smell of bacon lingering in the air.
7.) Self Defense – Trying to stop a mugger with a crispy bacon strip usually ends with bacon crumbs and you losing your wallet.
8.) Dressing Up – It never fails when you’re cooking bacon and wearing a nice shirt, the shirt gets ruined. I always cook my bacon wearing a white t-shirt.
9.) Vegetarians – I find that if you bring bacon around these people they get moody and unpleasant. I think it’s because deep down they wish bacon was a vegetable.
If you can think of anything else that is weird with bacon, leave a comment or send me an email.
This Sunday, September 9th, at 11:30 pm(Central Time) I am going to be on the Nick Digilio Show to talk about all things bacon. This is my first official radio appearance for MrBaconpants.com. I am even on their guest schedule.

If you live in the Chicago area and are up that late on a Sunday tune in. One of two things could happen. I could be so nervous that I don’t say anything, or I could be so excited that I ramble on like a bacon nut. I hope for entertainment value the second happens, rambling is something I do best.
If you have been blogging for a few years, you will know that during the summer less people are online. Which is understandable since summer is the time for being outside and going on vacation.
With internet traffic slowing down, I was still able to pull in some revenue. This makes me excited for this winter when traffic picks up again. If my site is doing this good during slow times, just think of what it can do when the traffic more then triples.
I am not going to list how much I made with each revenue source because some of them asked me not keep my earnings under wraps. So if I list some and not others, smart people could do the math and figure out what I made with ones I didn’t list. So I am not going to list them like that anymore.
This month’s money makers are, Talkshoe.com (talkObjectivism.com), Adsense, Banners, Text-Link-Ads, and Freelance Writing (about-pittsburghpa.com). I made a total of $65.03, so my income is steadily rising.
Sadly no one bought me a beer this month so I had to pay for my own. If someone would have, I would have listed them here with at link to their site.
In closing I would like to say “welcome” to all the bacon eaters in Chicago. This blog has been getting a lot of press in that city. If you live there, let me know where I can get a good Bacon Burger. I might be coming to town in a few months.
Wendy’s has now entered the breakfast market with over 650 restaurants serving breakfast. They say by the end of 2008, the whole chain should have the new menu. The one thing that I’m most excited about is the new Buttermilk Frescuit with bacon.
I guess since Wendy’s is the home of square burgers, they figured their breakfast sandwich should be square too. I am not sure if this was a good idea. Just like with the new Dunkin’ Donuts sandwich I am not happy with the breading. What the heck is a Frescuit? I long for the days when English muffins were top dog in the breakfast sandwich market.
Let’s take look at what is inside the Bacon Frescuit: bacon (most likely not crispy), scrambled eggs and American cheese on a biscuit. Other places put a fried egg on there sandwiches, but Wendy’s Frescuits are using scrambled eggs gently folded into a square omelet. Again it seems they can’t get a way from this square thing. I think this looks pretty good and I can’t wait to try one. I just hope they cook the bacon crispy.
If you live and the Pittsburgh area and know of a Wendy’s that is serving breakfast let me know. Thanks!
A while ago I was talking to a friend about traveling and Portland Oregon came up. I was telling them how I have wanted to go there for a while, but I really didn’t know why. Then a few days later, thankfully, the internet gave me a reason.
A Blogger in Portland that writes about Hamburgers linked my blog. I knew this because I keep a close look at incoming links to my blog. When I saw it was from Portland I quickly went to the site and checked it out.
After being on the site for only a few minutes I found the post that would make this my new favorite blog. It was a commentary on a homemade herb crusted cutlet with bacon. For people that don’t know, that’s a fancy garden burger. This would usually make me upset; a burger without meat should be illegal. But this blogger did something that I thought was amazing, he put real bacon on a garden burger. Now that’s a bold move.
After reading that, I know now that I have to go to Portland. A place that is the home of people that put bacon on vegan delights is a place for me. Portland here I come.
