iPhone on Sale June 29th

The Apple iPhone is set to go on sale June 29th. I think I might be one of the few people that really don’t want one of these things. Bellow is an excerpt from the article about the announcement.

“Apple announced the date on Sunday, with three television commercials showing off the phone’s large touchscreen and ability to watch video, play music and display photos. The ads can also be seen on the company’s Web site.” – Here is the full Story

In the article I find out that only AT&T will be allowed to sale the iPhone. That is the second reason I don’t want this. I would have to change carriers. And I am happy with the one I have now. So AT&T and Apple would have to offer an amazing deal for me to consider. Lastly, it always seems that it takes Apple a few times to get things right. Just look at the first generation iPods and the ones now. That hardly compare to each other anymore. I am sure the iPhone will fallow the same trend.

So even it I did want one I would wait at least a year, so the price would drop and the technology to get better. Plus, I am sure one of my friends will get one, so I can get the change to play with one eventually.

TV on the Radio

TV on the Radio is an experimental indie rock band that I just started listening to a few months ago and still can’t get enough of. The first CD of theirs I listen to was, “Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes” (released March 9, 2004). The name alone should tell you that it’s going to be pretty bad ass. The music is somewhere between insane and amazing, you never know what’s going on.

The first few times I listened to the CD I couldn’t tell if I liked it or not. It was almost too original and my ears couldn’t get used to it. I almost put it in my retired CD pile, but just before I did, I heard the lyric. I am not going to tell you what it was, since me typing it out will not give it justice, but just know it was amazing. After hearing it I found listening became easier. It was like that lyric, was my key to the enjoyment locked inside.

Sometimes that’s all it takes for me to really get in to a band, there just needs to be something that hits home. Once you find one song you like, it seems the others fallow soon after. Don’t get me wrong, there are some bands that really are one hit wonders, and only one song of their’s is worth listen to. But TV on the Radio is not on of those bands. If you give them enough time to sink in, you will enjoy them.

They have a new CD out now and I am sure in a few weeks eMusic will have it added to their growing library. Also, August 3rd at Mr. Smalls they have a show coming up. I think its going to be $22, but I am not sure who they are playing with yet.

If you like to give this band a listen, but don’t want to pay for it. Just sign up for eMusic’s free 25 song trial. Just click the banner above so they know I referred you and I get a little kick back. Thanks!
